Dorm Rooms, Private Rooms, The Quad Room
Need a break and want to kick back and relax? What better place to make it a reality than at Haka Lodge Backpackers on K'Road, Auckland. While in Auckland, be sure to check out our multi-day tours with our sister company, Haka Tours!

The smartest, coolest backpackers in Auckland

Kia ora, welcome to the best backpacker accommodation in Auckland, we’re a friendly bunch and we’re in one of the best locations! We have luxury dorm rooms for those travelling on a budget, and luxury en-suite private rooms for those travellers who like their own space.

We believe in offering affordable up-market accommodation that is top-end and suitable for a wide range of people. Hang out with other travellers from all over the world in our large open plan lounge, or cook up a storm together in our top of the line, fully fitted out kitchen.

We are located in one of the best spots in the CBD, Karangahape Road (commonly known as K’ Road) and it is considered to be one of the best cultural centres of Auckland. Since 1980s-1990s it has been undergoing a slow process of gentrification, and is now known for off-beat cafes and boutique shops. It runs west-east along a ridge at the southern edge of the Auckland CBD, perpendicular to Queen Street, the city’s main street for shopping. At its intersection with Ponsonby Road in the west, Karangahape Road becomes Great North Road, at its eastern end it connects to Grafton Bridge.

Why stay at Haka Lodge Auckland

We have a top of the line kitchen, bathrooms, living areas, and bedrooms. Our bunk beds are amazing and already have a reputation at our four other lodges in Christchurch, Queenstown,  Taupo and the Bay of Islands for being comfortable, private and unique – they are wooden beds that each have their own power point, reading light, privacy curtain and storage area under the bunk.

We are an up-market “flashpackers” located on K Road, and the city centre is a few minutes away by bus, or a 15 minute walk. A short ride on the Link Bus puts you in touch with all of the inner Auckland City suburbs giving you access to the ferry terminal for that trip to Waiheke Island, Victoria Park Market, the Sky City, Queen Street, Downtown, Britomart (bus and rail station), Parnell, Newmarket, the Auckland Domain and Museum, the Hospital, Auckland University and Auckland Library.

Our staff is the key to our success, incredibly helpful and friendly, we go that extra mile to make your stay with us feel like a home away from home. We pride ourselves on creating the warmest, relaxed, most helpful and caring lodge in Auckland.
