Our newest and most recent hostel has just opened in Auckland! Haka Lodge Auckland is situated on K’ Road (373 Karangahape Road), right in the heart of the city! The opening night happened two weeks ago and we kicked things off with a bang, Auckland style!

Haka Lodge Paihia Opening Night!

Haka Lodges are proud to announce the opening of their third hostel – Haka Lodge Paihia! With the whole Haka Team flown up from around the country, we celebrated in style at our opening party.

We had local agents and business owners up for the evening to sample some food and wine and have a look around our gorgeous new property overlooking the beautiful Bay of Islands.

The Orbiter Bus and the Metrostar Bus in Christchurch, NZ

In our series on public transportation in Christchurch, we have focused on the Christchurch metropolitan bus system. In our first post, we looked at pricing and discussed how the buses in Christchurch work.

In our second post, we talked about how you can get to the lodge from Christchurch airport by taking the Purple Line bus. In our continuing series, this post will now look at two very important and vital buses; The Orbiter and the Metrostar. The year of 2012 has been a huge one for the Haka Lodge brand! Not only did we grow our Christchurch lodge to be the top-rated hostel on Trip Advisor, but we got the privilege of opening a brand new hostel in Queenstown! How to Bus to Haka Lodge Christchurch

3 Great Reasons to Visit Christchurch, New Zealand

Christchurch is where the Haka brand all began. In 2007 Haka Tours launched in Christchurch, taking customers around the whole of New Zealand on what was then 26 day tours. In 2011, the Haka brand expanded with the purchase and renovation of a hostel in Christchurch. It has now been in operation for a year and a half, and we have worked our way up to the top of Trip Advisor!
